Oh, yeah, it almost slipped my mind, the company I've worked for for the last 7 and a half years was just bought by a competitor, and a lack luster one at that. A customer asked me today if there would be any noticible changes and I told him I wasn't instructed to start giving shitty service yet, so no reason to panic at the moment. Am I worried about getting laid off? Hell no, I'm worried I won't get laid off! I'll be eligible for 24---yes, as in two dozen---weeks severance pay! Fuck, that's almost a half a year! Plus I'd get paid out for my vacation earned so far this year and the carry over vacation from '05. And I'd be eligible for unemployment!
Hope losing my job doesn't push me into a higher tax bracket.
