Sunday recap-ish

A photo of Rusty, in Prague, because he nags me about not posting more often. Yes, this is a very nice way of saying "shut up". Love you Rusty!

Busy. Terribly, terribly busy. Our office moved into our new building this week and it was a week of last minute packing, moving circuits and the like. Add to that working at my friend Pat's restaurant, Chameleon, both Friday dinner as well as Saturday dinner and then his annual Halloween party after. Yep, that means I was bar tending (which I haven't done in 15 years) and cleaning up until 4 am. Fun, yeah, and I made a wad of cash to boot. Yea me. And because I was away from the house just about all weekend I let Rufus have run of the house, just so he's spend more time barking at the front window and less time sleeping, locked in my bedroom----that way he'd be more likely to sleep and therefore let me sleep in when I got home. Seems to work and he didn't chew anything or even sit on the couch (I'd know if he did, I have a system). So that's what I've been up to. No on to spending that tip money! (Which means paying my Neiman's bill.)
If I think up something clever to write I'll add it late.

Mute Monday....also Confusion Monday!

I put my Monday post together on Friday and saved it. Being the technical wizard I am I have no idea how to change the date on it so you'll have to scroll back in time (down the page) to before my Saturday post to see it. I know, Mondays are hard and no one wants to do extra work like this but it looks like you're going to have to man up and scroll down. It's too much trouble for me to fix it.

Happy Monday!

I can't hear you, I have a hard on.

I heard an article on NPR the other day about erectile dysfunction medication that was concerning. It turns out those meds like Cialias and Viagra cause hearing loss; at first it was thought that it was only temporary hearing loss but more cases of permanent hearing loss are turning up. I told the Roommate about this finding and he was surprised the medication had such a serious side effect. I asked him why is it surprising that a medication that gave it's taker a four-plus-hour erection would have serious side effects? Come on, a four hour erection? Do you really need that bad enough to loose one of your five senses?

Of course, I would imagine most men would find that a plus. Can't hear the nagging. But I guess that's just my take on it. Maybe they should start marketing it that way, two birds with one stone.

Mute Monday

Shadows. Yeah, yeah, it's kind of lame but what the heck. Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. I didn't check to see what the other participants used as their word today, I'm just being a maverick and will check theirs out after I post.

Again, from my photo stock pile.

Hope you enjoyed the show!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I feel as though I should post something but have been feeling extra brain-dead since the rain has started here, so instead I'll post one of my favorite photos from my Rufus archives. When my precious boy was just a puppy he got into all kinds of mischief and quite creative as well. He did this lovely toilet paper sculpture when only 6 months old and I'm still quite impressed at the speed at which he destroyed an entire roll of toilet paper while it was still on it's wall mount. He really has an eye for texture and design, don't you think?

Replacement

In case you are keeping track at home, I was just informed that my replacement at Hugs and Kisses started today. Nothing says customer service like waiting 5 months to replace your account manager. I know I'm awesome and all but surely my shoes weren't THAT hard to fill. Nice.

Shhhhhhhhhh, mute Monday

I have been guilted into posting, so I'm stealing this idea from iamnot, who stole it from someone else. Mute Monday, let the pictures do the talking. These are all from my stockpile, so apologies if you've seen them before.
Oh, and today's theme is "love".

Catching up with men in ruffles and tape.

Chil', Ive been one busy bee lately, not just at work but on the gogogo in my personal life as well. I haven't posted in a coon's age, so if anyone is still out there reading this, delurk and let me know.

A couple weeks back was Dr Phil's annual Pirate's on the Columbia party; nothing like a bunch of guys in ruffles. It's funny how some people really make an effort and others.....not so much. But that's ok, to each his own. This year Phil went all out and pulled out all the stops. A good time was had by all.

Phil and Kirt, ayyyyyre matie! This was one of two photos I managed to take that night that didn't turn out a completely usless black shot. It was so frigging cold that I didn't want to take off my gloves to take photos. Plus we had to constantly gage our distance from the bonfire to maintain the correct bodily temperature at all times.

And while I'm on the subject of temperature, let me just voice my disappointment at the weather this past summer. Or was there even a summer? Maybe it fell on a weekend so I missed it.

Enough bitching....

Last Thursday was the art walk on Alberta and the Roommate and I made some tape people and talked the staff at our favorite neighborhood wine bar to let us station them there. I must admit they were a big hit, people stopping and starting and taking photos even. Here are the two photos I took that evening. Yes, I am lazy.

Little boy sitting on a wooden barrel. Inspiring!

This piece was called "Three Sisters", one represents white wine, the other two red and rose. In keeping with the setting and all. I'm so clever. Sometimes.

Ok, that's it for now. I'm off to go downtown and work for a few hours. Then hit the party circuit tonight. Have fun and stay pure!

Sometimes being rich white trash is harsh.

Poor Brit, having a bad year? Just can't catch a break, huh?
