Mute Monday: Different Strokes

Must be opposite day, because this was the scene here in Portland yesterday at the Obama rally. Hardly "different", more like lemmings. But what the heck, I was there (see me there, smack in the middle? No? I have my eyes shut.......now you see me?).

The fire department estimated there were 60 thousand in the park and another 15 thousand that couldn't get in. I voted for Hillary but had to check out the competition since it looks like I'll have to back Obama in the general election.

Same message he's been spouting all along---change, new chapter, etc---but no barbs flung at Hillary. Just Bush and McCain. All in all it was an interesting event.

I checked my bank account again today, just as I have every day for the last two weeks, for my free gimme from the government and what do you know! Stimulus check deposit is pending! I guess bitching yesterday helped.

So now if I could just win the lottery and find that fountain of youth I'd be set. Hint hint.

Has anyone received their stimulus check or should we just chalk this up to one more Bush administration lie? I don't know of anyone who has seen their direct deposited bonus yet.

I plan on buying a tank of gas with mine. If it ever arrives, that is.

Am I missing something here?

On the one hand we have the DC Madam, who may or may not have committed suicide today, facing up to 50 years in jail for money laundering, racketeering and mail fraud. On the other hand we have the wack job in Austria who sexually abused his daughter since the age of 11, then kidnapped and held her a prisoner for 22 years while continually raping her and additionally held 3 of their offspring in a basement is only facing something like 16 years. Then there's the accidental death of an infant that he was directly responsible for so let's add murder to the mix, and he's getting a paltry amount of time behind bars. Where's the justice?
